Do I have to take off my underwear for a massage?

It is up to you. Every client is encouraged to undress only to his or her level of comfort. Removing any clothing is always optional – I have massaged clients who remain fully dressed as well as those who feel comfortable completely undressing – either way, clients will be properly draped and covered at all times. Only the area being actively treated will be uncovered. If you are uncomfortable removing your underwear wearing briefs or short underwear will help if you your problem areas include the lower back, glutes (buttocks), hips, hamstrings, etc.

No. There are some cases in which massage is not indicated, which is why you will be asked to complete a medical history form prior to your first massage session. It is important that you let your therapist know if you have any health issues, allergies, or any recent changes in your health so that you can be treated safely.

Is every massage the same?

No. Each massage is tailored to the client. Health issues and client goals are considered within every session and it is important that the client feel comfortable informing the therapist if he/she is uncomfortable in any way during the massage session.
